Ample Supplies for Your Pet(s)
Please check that you have adequate supplies (food, litter, etc.). You will be charged $30 if a shopping trip is required, in which case we cannot guarantee that your pet will receive its normal brand of supplies. We will retain a receipt and customer will be responsible for reimbursement of purchased items (also see Unforeseen Purchases policy).

Animal Behavior

Animals behavior can be unpredictable. Best In Class does not accept responsibility or liability for animal behavior, normal or otherwise, which results in injury to the client’s animals. Further, if a Best In Class pet care provider is harmed or injured by the client’s animals, the client/owner accepts full responsibility for the cost of any necessary medical attention required by either the Best In Class pet care provider or by the animals.

 Cancellation Policy
24 hours advance notice is required to cancel a daily visit.  72 hours is required to cancel overnight visits. Cancellations made during holidays require one (1) full week advance notice. Cancellations made without the proper notification above will require payment in full with no credits or refunds.

Confirmation Policy
For your convenience, we will reconfirm all reservations 2-3 days in advance.  Contact us should you not hear from us prior to your departure.

Emergencies
In the unlikely event that Best In Class is unable to perform the required service, you and your emergency contact will be notified as soon as possible.  It is suggested that your emergency contact be notified prior to your travel that they have been listed for such cases.  It is also suggested that arrangements be made with your emergency contact to evacuate your pet(s) in case of a natural disaster.  Best In Class will endeavor to secure your pets by contacting your emergency back up should such disasters occur, but can not be held responsible for your pet’s safety in the event of an emergency (also see Inclement Weather Policy).

Emergency Contact
Best In Class has requested the name and phone number of a person living nearby (with access to your home). This should be a person close enough to walk to your home if roads are impassable (for example, a neighbor). If we are physically unable to drive to your home this information is needed so that we can contact this person to request their assistance to check on your pet(s). Please remember that garage door openers are not operational in the event of power outages. Customer must provide Best In Class with an emergency contact with access to your home. Customer realizes that Best In Class will provide service but not until conditions allow us to reach your home safely.

Fences
Fenced in yards are wonderful play spaces for pets, however, no fence system is totally secure for your pet’s safety. Best In Class does not accept responsibility or liability for any customer’s pets that escape, are injured or become lost, fatal or otherwise, when pets are left out or given access to a fenced in area. This includes electronic, wood, metal or any other fence types.

Holiday Policy
Daily Holiday surcharges apply for services provided on:
New Years Eve, New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day

Home Access by Others
If customer allows any other person(s) access to their home during Best In Class service period, Best In Class cannot be held liable for any damages/losses to property or pets as a result. Please notify Best In Class if someone other than one of our Pet Care Specialists  will be in your home. Please also notify the person(s) in your home that Best In Class is coming so that your visitor, as well, is not surprised by our entrance.

If You Will Be Traveling
Please inform us of when you will be leaving, a destination phone number, as well as when you expect to return. A copy of your travel itinerary is appreciated.
If your pet requires medication, please leave us clear written instructions about medication including dates and amounts. We may be unable to administer medication if your pet resists. Please leave us alternative instructions, your vet’s number, and your destination number.
Upon your return, please call us and let us know that you arrived back on schedule and that your pet is safe in your care. We also would appreciate feedback on the care your pet and home received while you were gone.

Inclement Weather
Primarily severe storms, tornados, snow/ice conditions etc. You will entrust Best In Class to use our best judgment in caring for your pets(s) and home if we are servicing you at the time of inclement weather. Best In Class will try to carry out your instructions to the best of our ability. The care we provide to our customer’s pets and their safety is our first concern. Customer selection of a nearby emergency contact has been requested. The inclement weather plan will be as follows: 1) Every effort will be made to drive to your home; 2) The service schedule may be changed, interrupted, or altered due to circumstances; 3) If it is not possible to drive safely to your home, your emergency contact will be notified, 4) You will be notified that the above-mentioned contingency plan has been activated (also see Emergencies).

Initial Consultation
All new clients must have a first interview so that Sandy can meet you and your pets.  At this point, we will book your dates.  This gives all parties the chance to get to know one another.  We reserve the right to refuse service.

Key Policy
At the time of your initial consultation, we will collect two sets of keys from you.  Please be sure to test your keys with the door shut and locked before you give them to us.  If you decline to have Best In Class retain copies of your keys, a $20.00 service charge will be required for all future key pick-ups and drop offs.  We will not leave keys hidden at your home or retrieve hidden keys at the start of service.

Late or Early Arrival
Late: For your pet’s safety and well being, please be sure to let Best In Class know if you’ll be returning home later than expected, so we don’t worry if we don’t hear from you!  We want to be sure your pets are well taken care of as long as you are away.  If necessary, we’ll make additional visits and/or stay longer in the home to be sure your pet is taken care of until your return home.  Additional service charges will apply.

Early: Reservations are made to plan our Pet Care Specialist’s availability to clients.  Therefore, clients returning home early will be charged in full for the reserved amount of time scheduled.  No reimbursements, credits or refunds will be given.

Leashes
Customer is required to provide a leash for each dog.
All dogs will be required to be on a leash during outdoor walks.

 Multiple Pets
Prices quoted are for single or two pet households.  Larger households (3 or more) will likely require more service time, which should be taken into consideration when prices are quoted.

A Notepad and Pen
Please leave a dedicated notepad and pen in a visible place so that we can leave you a note about our visit.

Best In Class provides 24 hour, overnight in-home service. Please note that you will be charged for an additional day's service if traveling and returning home after 12:00 pm (noon).

Payment Policy

We do require that you provide plastic bags, towels, cleaning products, paper towels, trash bags and indicate where you would like the waste disposed of.

Refusal of Service
Best In Class reserves the right to refuse service to any client that does not meet our minimum standard of pet care, including adequate food, water, shelter, medical treatment, cleanliness and comfortable confinement.  Neither do we condone or engage in any activity we feel are harsh, abusive, unsafe, neglectful or painful.  We will happily offer education and assistance to pet owners seeking to rectify any of the above situations.  We are, however, obligated as pet care professionals to report unresolved situations of severe neglect and/or abuse to the proper authorities.

Security and Privacy Policy
It is the policy of Best In Class to protect the privacy and personal information of our clients as diligently as if it were our own.  Personal information, including the client’s name, phone number, address email or pet’s information will not be disclosed to any third parties without expressed consent of the client.  We take precautions to ensure our client’s absence from home is not detected due to any careless actions or disclosures by the sitter.

Service Rates
All overnight prices will depend on hours needed overnight as well as number of pets and services required. Our rates vary according to the number of pets needing care, distance, special needs, medications, extra walks, etc.  Please contact us to get a complete quote.

Special Needs Pets
We are happy to administer simple meds and other special care for aging and special needs pets, as per written instructions from a qualified veterinarian.  Additional charges will apply for any medications given.  All in-home care must be approved by your pet’s veterinarian.
Best In Class will attempt to administer medications as directed but cannot be held responsible for complications that arise as a result. We may be unable to administer medications if your pet resists. Please leave us alternative instructions. Excessively shy cats with medical problems can be a serious risk. If you have such an animal, this must be thoroughly discussed. Under no circumstances will Best In Class service any pet that has any form of contagious illness. This is for the safety of other customers. Best In Class requires that all pets have the necessary vaccinations and immunizations before service begins. If our Pet Care Specialists are bitten or exposed to any disease or ailment received from the client’s pet(s) which has not been properly or currently vaccinated, the client will be responsible for all costs and damages that may incur.

Unforeseen Purchases

We will retain a receipt and the customer will be responsible for reimbursement of these items. A $30.00 trip fee will be applied (also see Ample Supplies for Your Pets).
